Everything's Better with Penguins: Walter the Penguin is the last bonus pet of the game. Enemy Summoner: The final boss, Cyrax, can summon all the other aliens during its fight. Enemy Scan: Among Blip's many functions, he can detect where aliens are going to show up and display their health bar. As a result, Gash became a tweener at most. They were actually once friends but Itchy abandoned Gash. Enemy Mine: Itchy and Gash will work together to kill aliens, despite Gash wanting Itchy mounted on his wall. Both of Bilaterus's heads must be destroyed to kill him. Ulysses fights similarly to Destructoid, except he fires energy balls that need to be reflected back at him. Psychosquid occasionally turns blue and passive, and will regain health if shot. Destructoid stays at the bottom of the tank and fires missiles that need to be shot down. Gus is immune to laser fire, and has to be fed with fish food until he explodes. All have distinct roars, distinct signatures, and need a little more strategy to defeat beyond "shoot until dead". Elite Mooks: Every alien beyond Sylvester and Balrog. Ditto Fighter: You can change Presto into any other pet you have bought, though there is a buffering time in between the change. Dem Bones: Vert the Skeleton and Bilaterus. Thankfully, he loves to eat! Enough to gobble all the food the player gives him. Death by Gluttony: Gus is an alien that is immune to lasers. He becomes a mercenary for hire while still retaining his dancing skills. Dance Battler: Rufus the Fiddler Crab was a dance instructor until his studio was destroyed in a freak accident. The Computer Is a Lying Bastard: Despite the game suggesting players should never shoot blue Psychosquid at any cost, it is actually a very good idea to shoot them when they're dangerously close to a fish you like. 
Presto, for the sheer reason that he can transform into all other pets in the game, including the aforementioned Blip. Blip opens all of the available items to purchase not even 5 seconds into the game, indicates when your fishes are hungry, helps you locate where aliens show up, and indicates their health bar. Fittingly, the fishes in this mode drop seashells instead of coins and diamonds. Clamshell Currency: The Fish Emporium from the Virtual Tank uses seashells instead of the regular dollars used everywhere else in the game and provides the trope's image. Catching Some Z's: Walter the Penguin will do that after using his ability several times. Cat Smile: The Star Catcher sports an adorable one. As a result, rather than chomping on your named guppies, your carnivore feed on the nameless guppies that can be released any time at no cost. In the Virtual Tank, it is mentioned that store-bought pets will not eat each other. Also averted with Gash, who happily chomps on one of your guppies from time to time. 
Averted with carnivores, guppycrunchers, and ultravores, as they survive on guppies (the first two) and carnivores (the latter). Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: Stanley, one of the bonus pets, is afraid of nothing but badgers, aprons and badgers wearing aprons. Bioluminescence Is Cool: Gumbo the anglerfish, or at any rate his (Yes, his) esca. Artistic License Biology: Gumbo is mentioned as male, but the illuminated esca is a feature that only appears on female anglerfish.Also, the bioluminescence of a deep-sea anglerfish's esca is due to bacteria it cannot be switched on or off. Artistic License Animal Care: Gumbo is a deep-sea anglerfish (illuminated esca rather than one which looks like a worm) and could not survive anywhere near the surface, much less in an aquarium.That way, if you accidentally click on him while feeding fish or collecting coins, you're not immediately screwed over.
